The Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® - lobbying for homeowners

The federal government is currently undergoing public consultations on a National Housing Strategy with the vision of improving access to housing that meets the needs of all Canadians and that they can afford. The goal of the Strategy is to create solutions to our most important housing challenges; and it explores four themes: Sustainability, Affordability, Inclusivity, and Flexibility. The Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR) is committed to improving the quality of life of all those living in the province and we recognize the value that a National Housing Strategy brings to achieving that goal.

To this end, NSAR on behalf of REALTORS® across the province, submitted a statement outlining ideas to improve the affordability of homeownership from a local perspective.

NSAR believes that people and communities flourish when they are afforded quality housing at a reasonable cost. To promote and sustain high quality livable communities across Canada  NSAR believes that all Canadians should be enabled to exercise their right to own, use and transfer real property at an affordable cost, and be afforded access to resources that make homeownership an attainable life goal.
