Fall Out from Fall Leaves
The fall is the best time in Nova Scotia in my opinion. With vibrant coloured leaves and cooling breezes, it is prime time to enjoy the outdoors. In late fall as those leaves start to pile up, they can make your property untidy if left on the ground. Whether you are thinking about selling your home or not, it is time to rake those leaves and send them curb side. This task can be fun too!
Leaf raking can be a great family activity and also makes for some great photo opportunities. Spread this task out over a weekend so that it does not get overwhelming and be sure to have some fun by playing in the leaves. If you have a large property with many trees, have a party with friends and neighbours and treat them to a warm apple cider and freshly baked cookies when they’re done.
Having the yard leaf-free also helps keep your property looking manicured. As well, unraked leaves can clog drains, gutters and are a lot heavier to rake up in the spring if you have left them under the snow and ice. These dead leaves also make the property look a lot worse on those winter days where there isn’t a blanket of snow to cover them up.
